Taki Rua, Wellington, at the Capital E National Arts Festival.
After a prophetic dream, Kahe Te Rau o Te Rangi swims from Kapiti Island to the mainland, carrying her baby on a raft, to warn her people of an imminent attack. From the inner stillness of Hinemarama (Moon Maiden), to the nurturing nature of Hinemoana (Maiden of Ocean Movement) and finally the deeper strength and resilience of Hinengaro (Feminine power of the mind), Te Rau o Te Rangi reveals the energy our heroine draws from te ao Māori in order to complete her quest.
