The Ugly Shakespeare Company is planning its 20th national tour for 2015. With performances of Hamlet and The Dream penned by Adam Fresco, they are very excited about this milestone year. There have been some hard years along the way but the company continues to “take the fear out of Shakespeare” and give students a live, professional theatre experience in their own space on their own terms.
Founder and director Richard Green says: “We have been through two economic slumps and the dropping of Shakespeare from the curriculum, but we still manage to keep going. We are proud to have launched the careers of many well-known New Zealand performers such as Ben Hurley (7 Days), Emmett Skilton (Almighty Johnsons), Trgvye Wakenshaw (Theatre Beating) and Aaron Ward (Nothing Trivial) to name a few.”
Bookings have closed but some spaces are available in a few locations.
