Travelling back and forth in time, Rangi and Mau are in an epic race in search of the seven sisters, through challenges set out all over Aotearoa. In this hilarious tale, from hikoi and bikes, to hangi and kites, Rangi and Mau learn about the origins of Matariki in Aotearoa, the Pacific, and around the world.

RANGI AND MAU’S AMAZING RACE is Pacific Underground’s latest offering in theatre touring in Christchurch, Dunedin, Palmeston North and a one-off performance in Auckland. The play received a Dunedin Theatre Awards nomination in 2012.

“It is a mix of humour that makes the viewing so good…RANGI AND MAU’S AMAZING RACE has pulled me a little closer to the understanding and respect Matariki, Maoritanga and Pasifika culture duly deserve.”
– Venus Stephens, Theatreview

“The most hilarious, educative experience…a Samoan and Maori celebration oozing inclusivity.”
