Popular improvised comedy show The Early Early Late Show returns with The Court Jesters bringing improvised entertainment for all ages in a family-friendly time slot as a part of Christchurch’s KidsFest 2016.

Described as “a warming, enriching experience” by Theatreview, The Early Early Late Show features Court Jesters Brendon Bennetts, Emma Cusdin, Dan Pengelly and Tara Swadi scrambling to follow instructions from the mysterious “Boss”.  They’ll create games, scenes and songs, all guided by a healthy dose of audience interaction, and guaranteed to produce lots of laughs.

Adding to the fun on selected nights will be the stars of popular kids’ TV series What Now, swapping live TV for live theatre. Ronnie Taulafo, Chris Kirk and Bianca Seinafo (who appeared on The Court’s stage in productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Goldilocks and the Three Bears before her TV role) will each appear as a special guest during the show’s run. All three guest-starred in last year’s Early Early Late Show and are looking forward to performing live on stage again (and without gunge).

The show is “perfect for improv fans who want to bring their kids,” says director Dan Bain. “It’s great for them to see grown-ups having fun, being creative and genuinely listening to what they want to see.” With the show’s popularity last year, families are urged to get their tickets early, early – before it’s too late!

  • All tickets $15
  • Suitable for ages 8+.
  • Run time: approx. 1 hour 10 mins
  • 6pm Monday and Thursday
  • 7pm Tuesdays, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday
