Auckland Theatre Company’s Mythmakers programme continues to grow. Since 2015, this introductory theatre project has visited over 100 Auckland schools and 30,000 children have seen a Mythmakers performance.
This year the term two show, The Eel and Sina by Jono Soo Choon, directed by Gaby Solomona, is inspired by the story of the origins of the coconut tree, and combined physical comedy with traditional Samoan dance and songs.
The term four show ICARUS – the boy who flew too close to the sun, is written and directed by Benjamin Henson and features object animation, live music, comedy and song, bringing this classic Greek myth alive for children aged 8+.
Bookings for ICARUS are now open: https://www.atc.co.nz/creative-learning/mythmakers/
